PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIESFOR YOUNG MAN & BOYS 8–18
Winter Fairytale 2011
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2011, 12:00–1:30 PM
The Bayer Ballet Company is holding open auditions for boys and young men ages 8–18 for both major and minor roles in its seasonal production of the original story ballet A Winter Fairy Tale, with two shows to be performed December 17th & 18th at Mountain View Performing Arts Center. There will be costume and participation fees in conjunction with the performance. Scholarships are available for exceptional boys willing to work hard.
Young men may audition for the following roles:
The Magician—ages 12 and up
Wicked Bats—no height/age requirement
Soldiers—no height/age requirement
Call (650) 988-9971 to reserve your audition time Open to gymnasts, actors and dancers. No dance experience necessary. Willingness to work hard is essential.

A magician's magical book helps bring to life a Russian New Year's Eve forest fairy tale, filled with sweet animals, animated toys and other fairyland creatures. These charming forest friends join forces to rescue a little bunny who has been kidnapped by the wicked bat queen. Exquisite dancing, set to the music of Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov, is enhanced by gorgeous custom-made costumes and lovely settings which add up to an evening of stunning holiday ballet for your family.
On a snowy evening, the Bat Queen's kidnapping of a little bunny disrupts the forest creatures' Wintertime celebration. With the help of the Magician and a beautiful Rose Maiden, the bunny is restored to its family. Santa, the Snow Maiden and an enchanting Fairy treat you to the magical finale of an exquisite celebration that includes joyful Spanish dancers and bright Chinese dolls who come alive to help celebrate the bunny's return.

we are honored to have Maria Kochetkova, a San Francisco Ballet Principal, as our guest!
This is a unique opportunity for our kids to meet a graduate of prestigious Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow and a professional dancer with an international reputation. You will be able to ask questions and Maria will share her experiences as a student as well as professional dancer on stages around the world. We will go over videos and discuss the different roles she had the opportunity to perform.
I can't emphasize enough how inspiring and fascinating it can be to meet an accomplished personality like Maria for our kids. I am sure it will be an inspiring meeting and I hope to see you all there! Please take the time to bring your kids, it will be worth it!
